Jesus All About Life

The Bible Society’s Jesus All About Life media campaign in the Illawarra is to be run in conjunction with the Sydney 2009 Campaign in August and September, 2009.

 

If you or your church are interested in participating, just send us an email, so we can keep you up do date with preparations for the Illawarra JAAL Campaign. Information about JAAL Illawarra meetings and progress in the campaign will be posted here.

 

The Bible Society JAAL team has visited the Illawarra on two occasions now. If the Channel 7 regional Illawarra TV is to run the JAAL commercials it will cost an additional $27,000, and Channel 10 would cost $40,000 for 4 weeks (prices ex GST). If this is to be taken up, sponsors will need to be found in the Illawarra area. Even without this additional advertising, there would be a certain amount of advertising that would flow on from the Sydney campaign in any case.

 

Note that churches wishing to register their interest will not be able to do so on-line until February (Bible Society are busy with the WA campaign this year). Cheques for the $100 registration fee can be mailed to Bible Society and should be marked as being registration for the Illawarra Campaign.

 

Bible Society left with us copies of the promotional DVD. Anglican churches can obtain a copy from Rev Sandy Grant of St Michael’s Cathedral. The Uniting Church has copies at the Illawarra Presbytery office at Port Kembla. AOG churches can obtain a copy from Ross Stewart of the Lighthouse Church. 5ICM is distributing copies to other churches.

 

Bible Society has also produced material for use in schools in the period leading up to the campaign, training materials for use in churches, and a follow course for those who respond to the gospel through the campaign. Schools and churches are free to use their own resources and badge them as part of the campaign. The important thing is for all churches to take part in the campaign as a sign of Christian unity to the community.
